A Cozy Share House Where You Can Relax on the Engawa with a Cup of Tea
Kaorire Kadoma was created from the desire to offer a living space where you can slow down and enjoy quiet moments—sitting on the traditional engawa veranda, looking out at the greenery of the garden, and simply relaxing with a cup of tea.
This share house was renovated from a spacious traditional Japanese home with more than ten rooms. By connecting rooms to create generous shared spaces and intentionally limiting the number of private rooms, the house is designed so that each resident can live comfortably and at an unhurried pace.
In the garden, a shichirin charcoal grill is always set out, creating a welcoming place where people naturally gather whenever someone lights it. The result is a warm, homey atmosphere where connections form effortlessly.
If you’re even a little curious, come and take a look!
You’re more than welcome to visit — even if it’s just to see the place or have a quick chat.

Features of Kaorire
Engawa, Garden, and Shichirin
A garden-centered lifestyle that is hard to experience when living alone. You can grill meat over a shichirin charcoal grill, grow vegetables, or relax with a book while gently swinging on a garden swing.
The garden is located between the main house and the detached building (Room 101), creating a hidden, private space that is not visible from neighboring houses. This secluded layout allows residents to enjoy quiet, uninterrupted moments and a truly peaceful atmosphere.
Living Room with a Kotatsu
The spacious living room is divided into two comfortable zones: a sofa area with a kotatsu and a table seating area. This layout allows multiple residents to use the living room at the same time—some relaxing and watching movies at the kotatsu, while others enjoy meals or work at the table—without disturbing one another.
At the same time, when it’s time for a party or gathering, the space can easily transform into an open, connected area that flows seamlessly from the garden into the living room, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
Clean and Reliable Management
- Regular Cleaning: Common areas are cleaned on a regular schedule to maintain a pleasant environment.
- Resident Support: The live-in managers respond promptly to any issues, ensuring a safe and worry-free living experience.
